In some ways, it's hard to believe it's been nearly two years since my last post. In other ways, so much has happened in that time that it's hard to believe it has only been two years. In short: I turned 30 (and 31), S started a new job, Mom and Pop met S and welcomed him into their lives, New York State legalized marriage for all, and we got married in the presence of our families and beloved friends last month. Last week, Mom and Pop threw a second wedding reception for us with their friends and community.
And now here we are again, at the start of 2012, at the same juncture at which we imagined ourselves to be at the start of 2010: preparing to have a child. We will begin TTC within the next month or two. This time, it will be with the support and presence of my parents and the legal protections afforded by our state-sanctioned marriage.
I’m feeling blessed and ready to walk this new path.
